Erica Brookhart
Erica Brookhart is currently a dance instructor, and Artistic Director of SFK Academy of Dance, a children's book author, and co-founder of So Fly Kids. She was one of the first dance instructors at The Progressive Arts Academy in Compton, CA, and also taught at Budlong South Central, where she gained her passion for working with inner-city and under-privileged youth. Erica has worked with terminally ill children at the Dream Street Foundation, and is an advocate and long-time supporter of the Don't Worry Be Happy Foundation, a non-profit which assists cancer patients with their medical bills. Erica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Dance from Colorado State University, and currently resides in Santa Monica California.
Jodie dorner
Jodie Dorner brings over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry to the So Fly Kids Chance to Dance Foundation Board. She has a progressive work history ranging from an “in the trenches” performer, to a seasoned Casting Director, Associate Choreographer, and Event Producer. As a former professional dancer, Jodie is profoundly aware of the multitude of benefits weekly dance classes can provide a child. Jodie is a devoted advocate for the arts, a lover of animals and a proud supporter of Tanya and Erica’s vision. A graduate of The Ohio State University, she currently serves as a member of the Events and Education team at YouTube Space LA.
Nick crooks
Nick Crooks, originally from the east coast, has a passion for people and content. He started out as a runner at a commercial production company which shortly thereafter lead to project managing at Universal Studios in Burbank, CA. Nick went on to do Business Development for Leaf Group properties (primarily Livestrong.com), and is currently the Vice President of Partnerships and Distribution for youth entertainment brand Nitro Circus.
Being of Jamaican heritage, dance runs in the family. Nick's Grandaunt, Joyce Campbell, spent more than half her life as a choreographer for the National Dance Theater Company of Jamaica. In his spare time, if he is not on the dance floor, you can find him in Venice, CA, training for triathlons, hiking, and playing pick-up basketball.
sarah fisher
Sarah Stepien is currently a Nurse Educator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she mentors, guides, and empowers nurses to deliver safe, quality, humanistic care.
Sarah has been volunteering and working in her community for over 20 years, and her current efforts revolve around coordinating screening programs that identify at-risk persons, and provide health education, immunizations, and access to primary care for those who lack a provider. Her passions are for the arts, travel, food, sports, and the environment - all while pursuing justice, equality, and empowering others to be their very best selves.
She holds bachelor's degrees in Biology, and Political Science, from the University of Colorado, and master's degrees in Public Health and Nursing, from UCLA, and currently lives in Los Angeles California (via Canada and Colorado) with her Australian husband, Steven.
